what she fell for - lori's story

On a mild day in May last year, I was fortunate enough to capture an intimate wedding at Inside the Bungalow in Mesa. Lori and Andrew said "I do!" in a whimsical garden courtyard, surrounded by lamp posts, flowers and their dearest friends and family. I reached out to Lori and Andrew this past week to see how they were getting on and to ask about their favorite wedding image. Here is what Lori wrote:

"We are great! Coming up on one year and can't believe it! We have such a hard time picking just one! We both agreed we could probably pick the top 3-5 but not just 1! No way!

We both think our favorites are how you include incorporating color or props. Andrew's favorite is of me looking up on the white chair. We have it enlarged in our hallway. He also mentioned the one in front of the color panting. We also blew up on canvas our rings with my bouquet in the background. Its over our bed. One of my faves. Also, I love the one in front of the red door! And the lamp post! See! Its hard!!!! And the one with my girls throwing the confetti up in the air is super fun!!! One of our personal favorites!"

I find that while my brides love a lot of the artistic images I create, it's the emotional captures that really steal their hearts. Whether it's the joy on a friends face as they shower her with confetti, or the look in her groom's eyes as she walks down the aisle, it's the photojournalistic images I capture during the day that make these photographs priceless. On every shoot, on every wedding, I'm always striving to blend the beauty of fine art photography with the grit of photojournalism. It's such a winning combination!

Lori also let me know that she ended up making an album for Andrew using all but 28 of her wedding photos! That's about 230 images! It's wonderful to hear from my bride's and grooms that they love their wedding photographs and it's also super fun to see how they end up using the images! Lori sent me pictures of the images she mentioned and it's fantastic to see that their special day is remembered and highlighted all over their home! See if you can pick just one of the images Lori and Andrew love :) I agree, Lori! That's a tough call!
